Somewhere in Romania, not far away from Bucharest, this remote island on the Danube, which is hidden from our sight for most of the year, reveals itself when the tide has turn. For 6 days and 6 nights, beginning with July 24th, up to 2000 people get to discover it’s magic and experience a one of kind music festival.

The Rabbit King
The Island is located on the Danube River, far away from the bustle of the cities, on the border between Romania and Bulgaria, more precisely near the crossing point between Calarasi [RO] & Silistra [BG], in Ostrov.
Yeah, it’s a real island!
Being a real island, the only way to get on the island is by boat. The moment you put your feet on the boat you enter another world. A more natural one, with water, sand, a young forest and clear blue skies. If you’re lucky, on some mornings, you will find hundreds of seagulls playing around on the beach.
When the Danube is at its highest, the island stays under water for more than 3 months and nobody can set foot on it. The river crosses Europe and carries a lot of driftwood along his water, part of it let on the island. That makes the island be a bit different each year. It’s like nature’s perfect way of cleaning bad energy accumulated over the year.
The Golden Sand
The sand on this island is smooth, fine and clean. It’s well prepared for your feet and it will offer you an experience of full freedom. When the sun is at its highest, the sand will become very hot so it’s recommend that you wear a pair of flip flops after a refreshing swim in the river.
Camping in a young, friendly island forest gives you a feeling of freedom. You have your own gateway to nature and you don’t have to worry about keys. And if by any chance you can’t find your way back to your tent you can always take a nap in the chill area filled with hammocks big enough for two islanders. During the day you can also engage in water sports activities such as canoeing on the Danube, stand up paddling or chilling on the beach.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
With a great music festival comes the great responsibility to take care of this beautiful island. So, be an extraordinary islander and recycle your trash as best as you can. The island is green and clean, let’s keep it that way.
To be among the islanders you have to register first. Check out the official website and join their Facebook event for constant updates.
